Who’s (not) running in 2022?
Another day, another announcement that a legislator is leaving their post.
Whether they’ve been tapped by the Biden administration, declared their candidacy for higher office, or decided to not run for re-election, the sheer number of legislators moving on is impressive.
Here’s a current list of who is leaving and where they plan on going (as of 2/3/2022):
Rep. Claire Cronin (11th Plymouth) - Tapped to be the next US Ambassador to Ireland
Rep. Linda Dean Campbell (15th Essex) - Not running for re-election
Rep. Carolyn Dykema (8th Middlesex) - Accepted a position in the solar industry
Rep. Lori Ehrlich (8th Essex) - Tapped to be Region 1 Administrator of FEMA
Rep. Nika Elugardo (15th Suffolk) - Running for State Senate (2nd Suffolk)
Rep. Tami Gouveia (14th Middlesex) - Running for Lt. Governor
Rep. Sheila Harrington (1st Middlesex) - Tapped to be Clerk Magistrate of the Gardner District Court
Rep. Liz Miranda (5th Suffolk) - Running for State Senate (2nd Suffolk)
Rep. Jacob Oliveira (7th Hampden) - Running for State Senate (Hampden, Hampshire, and Worcester
Rep. Maria Robinson (6th Middlesex) - Tapped to work in the US Department of Energy
Rep. Paul Tucker (7th Essex) - Running for Essex County DA

Sen. Harriette Chandler (1st Worcester) - Not running for re-election
