Federal
To be expected in Massachusetts, Vice President Kamala Harris swept away all of the Bay State’s 11 electoral votes as well as the popular vote. Over 60% of voters voted for Harris while approximately 36% voted for President Donald Trump.
Elizabeth Warren received nearly 60% of the votes while first-time republican candidate, John Deaton, won 40%.
The U.S. Senate is now controlled by Republicans. It’s too soon to tell who will control the House, but all nine liberal representatives from Massachusetts were reelected. Here were the four contested races:
Three out of five ballot questions in Massachusetts were approved by voters - auditing the legislature (Question 1), ridding the MCAS graduation requirement (Question 2), and allowing ride-share drivers to unionize (Question 3). Bay Staters said no to legalizing psychedelics (Question 4), and eliminating the tipped wage for service workers (Question 5).

Only 54 out of 200 state legislative seats were contested this year, with three blue seats flipped red. The democrats still hold an impenetrable hold on both chambers, but republicans have a high of 31 seats since 2020.
