Introducing the New MassInsider
Breaking news: the media landscape has changed.
Less breaking: MassInsider has changed with it.
On January 5, 2026, InstaTrac rolled out a new and improved MassInsider newsletter, designed for the modern media moment. It’s cleaner. It’s prettier. It has pictures now. And most importantly, it’s built to reflect how news is actually consumed in 2026.
News Aggregation, But Make It 2026
MassInsider has always been about smart news aggregation—pulling together the most important Massachusetts and National policy coverage so you don’t have to open 37 tabs before 9 a.m.
That part isn’t going anywhere.
So what is new then? Well, we’re expanding beyond legacy outlets to capture the full new media ecosystem. Because today’s narratives don’t just start in newspapers—they start in TikTok videos, podcasts, Substack posts, and YouTube explainers that quickly shape the conversation everywhere else.
So we’re aggregating those, too.
What’s New in the New MassInsider
Here’s what you’ll notice right away:
A more modern, easier-to-scan design
Images and visual context to speed up your morning read
Coverage from new media sources including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Substacks, and Podcasts
A broader mix of voices alongside trusted legacy reporting
Aggregated Massachusetts and national Must-Read news
In short: fewer blind spots, better context, and smarter news aggregation.
Why We’re Doing This
New media is where influence lives. In fact, more than half of U.S. adults (54%) now get some of their news from social media and video platforms, overtaking traditional TV and even legacy news websites as a primary way people stay informed. The updated MassInsider is built to reflect that reality without sacrificing accuracy, credibility, or your time.
Same MassInsider. Bigger Picture.
MassInsider is still curated by people who live and breathe legislative tracking and government affairs. We just happen to also know what a Substack is and why a 45-second TikTok clip can matter as much as a front-page headline.
On January 1, 2026 the new MassInsider launches.
More sources. Better context. Smarter news aggregation for the new media era.
